My name is Dylan Hatch. I am a student of applied ethics and political philosophy at Hampshire College.

My interests lay at the intersection of politics, philosophy, and economics. I study three dilemmas: the ethics of power, the functions of modern political and economic institutions, and the specific ways in which these institutions can achieve an ethical distribution of power and wealth.

I am currently working on my first publication, Equity in the System of Inequality: An Ethical Analysis of Wealth Distribution and Political Economics. The work deliberates the ethics of power and wealth distribution through the analysis of both democratic and economic theory. It then applies this understanding to outline the government’s moral duty to maintain partial wealth redistribution in a capitalist economy and the effectiveness of modern governments in doing so currently. Utilizing both philosophical reasoning and empirical research methods, it accumulates to a interdisciplinary critique of the modern social, political, and economic order.
